The Levi’s 517 is one of the best-known bootcut silhouettes in denim, and it has never really gone out of style. Levi’s describes the 517 as slim through the thigh with a wider leg designed to fit over boots, and that simple formula is what gives the jean its character: fitted where it counts, then flaring gently from the knee to a generous hem.

The 517 carries a strong western and seventies feel. The mid rise sits comfortably at the waist, the seat and thigh stay trim, and the bootcut opening creates a long, lean line that looks especially good with a slight break over the shoe. It is a jean with attitude, but an easy one to wear.
