The Levi’s 501 is where the blue jean began. Levi’s assigned the 501 lot number to its copper-riveted waist overalls around 1890, and the style has remained the brand’s core heritage jean ever since: a straight leg, a button fly, a sturdy five-pocket build and the Two Horse patch on the back waistband.

The paper tag in the name refers to that patch. Levi’s originally used a leather Two Horse patch; in the late 1950s it moved to a heavy card-stock version, and the paper patch has been a familiar 501 detail ever since. This piece carries that paper patch look along with the classic 501 construction. We present it for its heritage styling and do not claim a specific production year or verified vintage provenance.

The 501 silhouette is the definition of easy. It sits at the waist, runs straight through the leg and finishes with a regular hem that works with almost any shoe. Wear it with a tucked tee and boots for a clean, timeless look, or with a hoodie and trainers for a relaxed weekend outfit. It layers under jackets of every kind without fuss.
