The Levi’s 527 takes the bootcut idea and slims it down. Levi’s lists the 527 as its Slim Bootcut fit: regular through the thigh, sitting just below the waist, with a leg that opens out enough to sit over a boot without the full sweep of a traditional flare. It is the bootcut for people who prefer a cleaner, more contemporary line.

Because the flare is restrained, the 527 is unusually versatile. With boots it reads as classic western denim; with a slim trainer it looks like a modern straight leg with a little extra movement at the hem. The lower rise gives it a relaxed, lived-in attitude that suits everyday wear.

Build outfits around it with a simple tee and a fleece jacket for weekends, or a knit polo and a Harrington for something sharper. Darker layers on top keep the focus on the leg line, while a hoodie in a bold colour gives the whole look a streetwear edge.
